One of the easiest ways to help ensure that your PC is secure is to set your computer to always have the latest security updates from Microsoft. To automate this process, follow the instructions outlined below.

Click Start then select Control Panel.

Select Performance and Maintenance

Select the Automatic Updates tab. Place a check in the box labeled Keep my computer up to date. In the Settings field you need to select one of the three options. Microsoft recommends that you select Automatically download the updates, and install them on the schedule that I specify. To ensure a higher level of security, select Every Day and then choose a time of day to download and install the updates. Click Apply and then OK to finish. .
